Hunting responsibley is basically, like hunting to bring down overpopulated species NOT to get rid of a whole species or NOT to kill for the plain pleasure, food is also an acceptable reason to hunt. Hunting CAN be good, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Im not trying to change your mind if you disagree, this is for those who AGREE. I am in no way interested in your opinion right now, I dont have time for debate, so please dont comment if you just want to debate.
I personally have not hunted yet, but do plan on getting my license.
I agree with just about everything except for the keeping population down excuse. I personally don't think that is a good reason, but that's just me. But I do agree that killing for "sport" is not a good reason because I just don't see the sport in it at all.

With deer especially its important to keep the populations at a sensible level, because otherwise they just end up starving, you ahve to maintain a healthy herd. As for the sport, the sport is taking good shots, so not shooting low birds, or birds just sitting there, giving the animal a sporting chance, They have about a 50% chance of flying away unharmed, flying birds take a lot of practice to shoot, specially geese and stuff that can fly at like 70 mph, Can you swing a gun that fast? XD
Sorry, but I'm still against killing them to maintain population. One reason they would end up starving is because we continue to destroy their habitat, so it's really our fault to begin with. And I will never support the hunting of animals for anything other than food

Cheers! I hunt quite often, but it's quite sad to see how many ignorant people on the Internet will jump down your throat for it.

I've been watching the hunting channel lately and my dad asked "You plannin' on killing Bambi's mom?" Hunters play as big a role in conservation as veggie people and recyclers. The government loves money, and as long hunters are paying for their tools, licenses and going on the land, the government won't cut down the forests.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
